I hope that your Thanksgiving was very enjoyable and that you and friends and family all had a great time.

  • Wednesday, November 30th we have lunch at Papa Rocco's at 11:30  no RSVP needed. Papa's is located on Hwy 59  and a couple of blocks north of Beach Hwy.
  • 8 PIN NO TAP Bowling Tournament to Support Christian Services is February 14th at Gulf Bowl. This is the 11th annual Fundraiser for Christian Services. You can register at our two January meetings and the February 2nd meeting.  If someone has a Bowling Tournament question, contact Lisa Jacobson - gulfbowllisa@gulftel.com or call 251-943-4575 
  • Tom Chestnut, Membership Chairperson ask that you make sure to send your registration to him by NOVEMBER 30. This will allow for your information to get into the 2023 Roster and make for a lot less of a crowded area around the registration area at the meetings.
  • Your club need members to be Chairperson of three ITEMS.  Need a person or persons for the Low Country Boil, Some one for Trivia night, and People to SELL our club clothes.  If you think that you may be interested in any of these please CALL Me 251.967.2463 or email me.  These are all easy position and it give you a chance to meet other Wisconsin people.
  • STILL NEED A CONDO?: A two bedroom, two bath condo in Driftwood Towers on West Beach in Gulf Shores is available to rent from Jan to the second week of March for $2250 a month.  The cleaning fee is $140. Call Megan at 251-366-1050 immediately if interested.

  • Tom Chestnut, Membership Chairperson ask that you make sure to send your registration to him by NOVEMBER 30. This will allow for your information to get into the 2023 Roster and make for a lot less of a crowded area around the registration area at the meetings.
  • TRIVIA NIGHT:Remember, if you would like to donate a new item from your area of Wisconsin, you can bring it down with you and we will make a a couple of baskets for the Trivia Night Bucket Raffle. Items can be brought to the two January meetings.
  • CALENDAR DRAWING. The month for the drawing will be February. A total of $3,450.00 will be given away in February. Different amounts for different day, as much as $500.00 for one days. The minimum amount that could be won is $50.00. There will be a winner ever day and the wining ticket will be returned to the drum for the next drawing. There will be 1 $500.00 winners, 1 $400.00 winner, 5 $200.00 winner, 7 $100.00 winners and 15 $50.00 winners. That is 29 winners. The Calendar raffle replaces the brat fest for the fire departments.

  • Looking for something to do next Saturday  HOW ABOUT A FISH FRY and support The City of Marlow's United Methodist Church, Intersection of CR-9 and CR-28:
  • Saturday, November 19, 2022, 11 am to whenever fish is gone!  $12 includes:Catfish, coleslaw, baked beans, hush puppies, beverage and homemade dessert

Snobirds:

  • Chairpersons NEEDED: Because of Illness or other personal reasons there is still some Chairpersons position needing someone to step-up and help. Please look at what you could do to help out your club's fellow members. We have 51 members that now are chairpersons of one or more activities.  THESE ACTIVITIES ARE:

1. NEW;  Low Country Boil (LCB)
           1 (A)   Ticket sales
           1 (B)   Food Service at LCB
2. NEW; Trivia Night Registration.
3. A person or two to be THE SANTA at our Christmas Dinner.
4. Card Playing person to arrange for cards to be played at the Gulf Shores American Legion.
5. Person to set up the three Singles Lunches.

These position except for the LCB Food Service take very very little work and you do get to meet many of the club members you may never have met. Some of these are just making a phone call or two or setting at a table at two or three of our first meetings.

  • Breakfast Wednesday 16th is at The Ugly Diner at 8:30 AM.
  • THANKSGIVING DINNER SIGN UP: You can sign up for Thanksgiving Dinner at breakfast Wednesday or by sending me a email. Please include your name, number of people attending, and what you will be bring as a pass around dish.  This event is for Wisconsin Snobirds and their family and friends.
  • We still need someone to:
    1. New!  We now need a chairperson for the LCB. This person will head up the serving at the LCB the workers are there but need   a leader.  PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU ARE EVEN THE LEASE BIT INTERESTED.
    2. Be the dirty Santa at our Christmas Dinner.
    3. This is NEW. We need someone to Chair the weekly card playing.
    4. Someone to set up the three Lunches for the singles clubs.
  • A reminder from Membership Chairperson Tom Chestnut.If you have not returned your registration forms for the 2023 season that you received in the mail in mid September, please send it in by November 30.  This will give the membership committee your information to be in the club roster. Tom will be putting the roster together in early December. ( if you registered last year you did not receive a registration packet because we rolled the registration over because we didn't have a Snobird Season)

  • Breakfast this week Wednesday 11/9 is again at Tacky Jack's GS 8:30. Next weeks Breakfast is Wednesday 11/16 will be at The Ugly Diner, 2200 2nd Ave GS at 8:30
  • We still have a space available in our STORAGE ROOM: We now have a open space in the Wisconsin Snobirds storage room. If you are interested in renting this space email me. The storage room is at Public Storage, which is by the airport on Hwy 59 or just north of the TRACK fun park. If you know someone that may not be a Wisconsin Snobird but they are looking for some storage have them contact Kenn.

Raffle.

  • Illinois toll system changes...! To Wisconsin Snobirds:The Illinois toll system no longer has manned toll booths.  All tolls must be paid electronically. To avoid having to wait for a bill to come through every time you go through a toll booth, the following is information on how to set a pay-by plate account for the Interstate tolls for the duration of your vacation.  This is a FYI from the state of Illinois: set up pay-by-plate for Illinoise state toll system https://www.illinoistollway.com/paybyplate
