to Snobirds

  • Breakfast, Wednesday, March 27th is at The Diner (by Tack Jack's in GS) breakfast is at 8:30 and is off the menu.
  • Easter Dinner: at the Orange Beach Community Center. Dinner starts at 12:30 with a social and dinner will be at 2:00. You need to bring a pass around dish and any beverage you wish, we will have coffee.Dinner is for members, their family and friends. You need to sign up, which can be done at any of the remaining breakfast or by e-mail me. We will cook the hams, and pass a basket.
  • No more sheep head cards for this season. Card Playing will begin next January. Friday, January 3rd. Cards will again be played at the Gulf Shores American Legion Post 44 Hwy 59 at 9:00
  • Trivia Night: The profit from this years Trivia Night was just over $11,000. Profits to be shared by the Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Library. A big THANKS from the Friends of the Library for those that help make this a big success.
  • We NO longer will be collecting Manufacture coupons. We will however still be collecting:: BOX TOP logos from General Mills & Johnson & Johnson: Soap and toiletries form motels: Empty Ink Carriages, & Pop Top Rings.
  • Last two breakfast of this season:

Wednesday, April 3rd: Hazels Nook (Gulf Shores), Breakfast is at 8:30 - Buffet w/ Omelet Bar

Wednesday, April 10th: Kitty's Kafe (Pinnacle Place by Target) Breakfast is at 8:15 off the menu

  • Breakfast Wednesday: March 20th at Cactus Cantina Orange Beach 8:30 Buffet or off the menu (the old Hazel's on Perdido Beach Blvd).
  • If you are going to be traveling home and driving on I 55, there is heavy construction w/delays near Jackson, MS.
  • Card Players: Sheepshead has been discontinued for this season. Playing will begin January 3, 2020 at the Gulf Shores American Legion Post 44 Hwy 59 at 9:00.

  • Wednesday March 20th: Cactus Cantina ( the old Hazel's in Orange Beach). Breakfast is at 8:30 and is a buffet or off the menu.
  • We would like to Thank Sue & Roger Winninghoff for volunteering to be our clothing sales people for next year. Thanks also goes to Chet Newman for offering to set up lunches after our meetings next year.
  • To all of you that collect coupons and clip them. That program has ended, we NO longer will be collecting Manufacturer's coupons. We will however still be collecting:: BOX TOP logos from General Mills & Johnson & Johnson: Soap and toiletries form motels: Empty Ink Carriages, & Pop Top Rings.

At our March 13, 2019 meeting:

  • We presented Brianna Ennis a $1,000.00 scholarship. Brianna will be attending University Of Alabama.
  • Guest Speaker Kay Trattles, Director of Mary's Shelter. Informed us of the operations of Mary's Shelter and that they do not turn any young lady away.
  • A check actually two checks were presented to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo from the profit of our Fun Day fund raiser. One check went to the Build a Zoo where we will have a board placed on a walkway for all to see. The second check will go into the general fund. The Fun Day raised $506.44 for the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. Our 19 year total of holding the Zoo Fun Day is $13,915.27. Dr. Adam Langston spoke about the new zoo and the closing of the current zoo. He also thank all of the people that worked at the 12 work days this winter. One work day at the Zoo still remains, Thursday March, 21st. 8:30 am and then no more work days are scheduled this spring.
  • Easter Sunday Ham Dinner: The Wisconsin Snobird Club will again celebrate Easter with a dinner at the Orange Beach Community Center. Dinner starts at 12:30 with a social and dinner will be at 2:00. You need to bring a pass around dish and any beverage you wish, we will have coffee. You need to sign up, which can be done at any of the remaining breakfast or by e-mailing me. We will cook the hams and pass a basket.
  • I just want to mention to all of you heading back home to Wisconsin, to be careful with your traveling. You have not had to drive in any other weather conditions except rain and fog while enjoy the Gulf Coast. Safe travel to all of you.

  • A REMINDER: This weeks meeting, March 6th is at the Orange Beach Community Center (OBCC). Our speaker will be Rusty Grover: Education Specialist for the Alabama State Park
  • **You can sign up for the Zoo Fun Day March 7th at the Zoo. Admission to the zoo, lunch and a live animal show all for $10.00..
  • **You can also sign up for Easter Dinner. Easter Dinner will be at the OBCC, 12:30 social, eat at 2:00 you need to bring a pass around dish and a beverage other than coffee if you so desire.
  • Zoo Work Day Monday March 4th 8:30. Future work days March 12th & March 21st. More work days will be scheduled.
